Pope Francis Receives The Charlemagne Prize

This morning at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis celebrated Mass and gave a homily on the meaning of Christian joy (more details, summary video).

Today Pope Francis received in audience some European leaders, particularly: President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel (summary video).

Additionally, they also came to attend the awarding of Pope Francis with the Charlemagne Prize which occurred today (full text, full video, summary video 1, summary video 2).
