The Lord is Merciful and Great in Love

Early this morning at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis celebrated Mass and gave a homily on giving one’s sins to God to forgive them (more details, summary video).

Today Pope Francis resumed meeting with the Council of Cardinals regarding Roman Curial reforms, and meetings are to continue through Saturday (more details).

As well today, it was released that due to the busy-ness of the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis has decided to postpone any afore-planned pastoral visits in Italy during the Jubilee.

Today Pope Francis sent messages of condolences at the death of Cardinal Carlo Furno (full text, summary video) and Cardinal Julio Terrazas Sandoval (full text, summary video). Additionally, he sent message of support and prayers to victims of flooding in Cumbrian and North Lancashire, in the North of England (full text).

Child patients at the Vatican-owned Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome have created their own Holy Door for the Jubilee of Mercy. As well, there is a really really good interview with Cardinal Gerhard Müller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on the doctrines of mercy and how they can be applied to the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
