For His Love To Be Accepted

Today Pope Francis received in audience a number of people, mostly various Roman Catholic officials, but including church historian Alberto Melloni (wikipedia page).

Pope Francis also sent message to Rev. Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit, the general secretary of the World Council of Churches, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the Joint Working Group between the Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches or WCC (full text). This evening, Cardinal Kurt Koch read the message to the WCC group who were gathered for a conference in Rome to mark the anniversary. And here’s an excellent interview with the Rev. Dr. Tveit regarding the global ecumenical movement and the momentum which Pope Francis has brought to it.

Pope Francis also made an appointment, and sent a tweet:

God’s love is free. He asks for nothing in return; all he wants is for his love to be accepted. (link)

And that’s the Pope Francis news for the day!
