And quite clearly by this latest video, Pope Francis continues being a primary leader in the spreading and implementation of God’s plans for the planet Earth.

Today Pope Francis traveled by car to Rieti, Italy (a city northeast of Rome), where he met with Bishop Domenico Pompili and then traveled to the town of Greccio where he visited the Shrine of Greccio (more details, more details in Italian, excerpts of his address in English, summary video).

It was announced today that Pope Francis is going to be doing monthly videos to share his monthly prayer intentions and invite people across the Earth to pray with him (more details).

A Negotiated and Peaceful Solution

There wasn’t much Pope Francis news today. I imagine that he’s busy putting together his response document to the Synod on the Family.

It was announced that the Comprehensive Agreement between the Holy See and the State of Palestine, signed on June 26th, 2015 is now in force.

Also it was announced that Dr. Alberto Gasbarri is approaching his seventieth birthday and as such he is stepping down from his position as Pope Francis’ international travel manager. Gasbarri was the one Pope Francis made reference to when he famously commented about punching another if they insult one’s mother (from in-flight press conference on Jan. 15th, 2015). His successor was named to be Mauricio Rueda Beltz.

The Ocean Of Mercy Which Floods Our World

This morning Pope Francis presided and gave a homily at the celebration of Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, and on the occasion of the World Day of Peace (full text, full video, order of worship). As the three Magi during the Mass appear to be two boys and one girl, here’s a super good article on how biblically the Magi were not necessarily all men.

After the Mass, he ascended to his study in the Apostolic Palace where, overlooking St. Peter’s Square, he gave an Angelus Address (full text, full video, summary video).

In the evening, Pope Francis happened to be strolling through St. Peter’s Square and a man shouted, “Pope! We are waiting for you in Mexico!” Pope Francis replied, “With tequila or without tequila?” And the man answered, “With a lot of tequila!”

This morning in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel in the presence of Pope Francis, the preacher to the Papal household, Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, gave a second Advent sermon (full text).

Call Me Francis

Today in the news, Pope Francis has ordered for a full audit of all Vatican economic assets.

Pope Francis in Central African Republic – Day 2

This morning at approximately 8 o’clock, Pope Francis visited the mosque of Koudoukou, which is the central mosque of Bangui and gave an address there (more details, full text, summary video). After that, he traveled by popemobile to the Koudoukou school sports field where he met with a gathering of refugees.

Pope Francis then traveled to the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium in Bangui to celebrate Mass and he gave a homily (full text, full video, summary video). In attendance was head of state Catherine Samba-Panza and other officials. At the end of the Mass, Pope Francis declared a final blessing, spoke of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I and asked God to bless the sister churches (full text in Italian, summary video).

After the Mass, Pope Francis traveled to the M’poko International Airport of Bangui where there was a farewell ceremony, and then Pope Francis departed by airplane for Italy at approximately 12:30 p.m. While en route, he sent telegram messages to heads of state of the nations he flew over (full text). Pope Francis in Uganda – Day 3, Central African Republic – Day 1

This morning at approximately 9 o’clock, a farewell ceremony was held at the Entebbe airport (full video) and Pope Francis then departed by airplane to Bangui, Central African Republic. Also, as he traveled, he sent greetings to various heads of state of the nations he flew over (full text).

After less than three hours in the air, Pope Francis touched down at the M’poko international airport in Bangui. He was greeted there by head of State, Catherine Samba-Panza, and the Papal Nuncio, Mons. Franco Coppola, as well as other officials. Pope Francis and Ms. Samba-Panza also had a brief meeting in the presidential lounge of the airport.

Pope Francis then traveled to the Presidential Palace where him and the Papal Entourage met with Ms. Samba-Panza and other officials, Pope Francis and Ms. Samba-Panza exchanged gifts, and Pope Francis addressed a gathering of diplomats there (full text).

Afterwards, Pope Francis traveled to the Refugee Camp set up in the parish of St. Sauveur, which houses about a thousand displaced people, and addressed them (more details, full text, full video, summary video). Following that, Pope Francis traveled to the Apostolic Nunciature in Bangui where he met the Bishops of the Central African Republic.

In the afternoon, he went by car to Faculty of Evangelical Theology in Bangui (FATEB) where he met with and addressed approximately 400 representatives of the Evangelical Community of the Central African Republic (full text).

After the meeting, Pope Francis made a brief stop at a pediatric hospital Bangui where he met some children and left a gift of medicines.

Next he traveled to Bangui’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception for Mass with priests, religious, catechists and young people, and to open of the Holy Door there to begin the Jubilee Year of Mercy in the Central African Republic.
